It is no more news that All Pogressives Congress, the virile opposition to the ruling People’s

Democratic Party has chosen Yemi Osinbajo, the running mate to its Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari from the ranks of widespread ministry, Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The move if it works out would place a top shot at the Pastor Enoch Adeboye led church as the number two man in the highest office in the country, a position of vast influence, extensive contact and limitless benefits.

Interpretation stakeholders in opposing political side, the People’s Democratic Party, are playing up with Bishop David Oyedepo, leader of another popular ministry with cult like following, Winners Chapel – Living Faith Worldwide – in pressuring him to effect a reconciliation with estrange political figures, Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo and re election seeking incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan.

The former President very much at logger heads with fellow party man and sitting number one citizen is a personal friend of the Winners Chapel headman.

They manner of closeness however is not something they flaunt- only very close allies and aides have inkling of their extraordinary rapport.

And with the friendship over the years has come easy access to occupiers of the Presidency.

Chief Obasanjo whose friendship with Bishop Oyedepo is said to have roots beyond his regime as president is credited with installing all those who assumed the esteem office after him, particularly Mr Goodluck Jonathan.

A development that ensures Bishop Oyedepo’s continuous rapport with the Presidency.

Obasanjo fell out with President Jonathan over protracted government and party issues bordering on control and need to assert a bit of independence on either side. Third parties involvement had deepened the gulf.

But with re election looming, and the popularity and followership of the main opposition fledging by the hour – the President and his men are courting support from all corners.

And one of their chief targets is the estranged former president that plotted the course that crested Mr Jonathan into the office of the President in the first place – Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The man of many national secrets has transformed the beautiful bride of both the party he opted to remain aloof from and the main opposition.

His former loyalists who have joined the opposition led by former governor and booted out national scribe of the PDP, Olagunsoye Oyinlola are mounting ceaseless campaign for ‘Baba’ (Father) as he is fondly addressed to join the APC.

And the PDP through the governors’ forum and party leadership are holding ceaseless meeting to reconcile him with his estranged protégé, President Jonathan.

The moves and counter proves turned a much highlighted religious affair with the emergence of Redeemed Christian Church of God topshot, Yemi Osibajo as APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate.

The role of Bishop Oyedepo in reconciling Obasanjo and Jonathan became vital to the PDP.

And the ruling party stakeholders mounting pressure on him to work hard at reconciling the duo are playing the card of which is more beneficiary to the celebrated preacher and his ministry , having the protégé of his friend as sitting president in a system he is familiar with– or loss that access along with attendant benefits to another ministry.

Further digs however revealed before this latest development, the powers that be in the PDP and other stakeholders have being on Bishop Oyedepo’s case to effect a truce between the former and incumbent Presidents.
