APC Candidate, Timpre Sylva Kicked Out Of Next Month’s Bayelsa Guber Election

Timpre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate has been knocked out of the November 2023 Bayelsa State gubernatorial election.
The development is courtesy of the ruling of a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Justice Donatus Okorowo ruled that Sylva had been sworn-in twice and ruled for a cumulative period of five years, that it would be a breach of the 1999 constitution as amended if he is allowed to contest.
The court disqualified him on the premise that if allowed to contest and he wins, he would spend more than the constitutionally allowed eights years.
