Information pieced together revealed billionaire businessman Jide Omokore would face the full length of the law.

This, according to sources, is the position of President Muhammadu Buhari on the corruption charges against his person.

The President is said to have told Omokore nothing would stop his prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.

Sources who are familiar with how things stand as regard Omokore’s corruption trial disclosed the money man personally sought the help of the president to halt his trial by the anti-corruption body, EFCC.

Omokore was said to have told the president of the willingness to refund all the funds involved in the corruption allegations against him.

Digs revealed he had an audience with the president on the issue that is giving him great discomfort not too long ago.

And sadly the president did not yield to his request, societynow.ng learnt.

“I know he has met the president himself on more than one occasion where he sought Buhari’s help on the matter… But the president has always told him he will face the law”, a source who is privy to the meeting confirmed.

Wealthy Omokore is the chairman and founder of Energy Resources Group.

A number of business concerns in Energy Resources Group are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Commission over multi-billion dollars scam.

Omokore was a major operator in the economy of the nation in the last administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Omokore currently faces multiple charges of fraud and diversion of public funds as well as bribery.
