Akwa Ibom Gov, Godswill Akpabio To Drop Anointed Successor, Emmanuel Udom In Fresh Political Horse Trading

Fresh information indicates, Governor of Akwam Ibom state- Mr Godswill Akpabio may drop his annointed successor, Mr Emmanuel Udom.

Findings revealed the move part of proposed political horse trading to enable the ruling party provide a united front against the increasing support opposition party, All Progressives Alliance are gathering.

The adopting of Mr Udom, the Secretary to the state government and alleged long time business partner of the governor as his annointed successor had fractionalised the PDP in Akwa Ibom state.

Obong Umana Okon Umana, the former SSG booted out over his ambition to take over from Akpabio had vowed to do all it take to achieve his dream.

Though in the same party with Akpabio he is generally viewed a ‘political opponent’.

Also a town hall meeting staged in November 2013 by Mr Akpabio to bring together warring faction ‘ended in street fight.

And to compound the case different interests groups against the choice formed a coalition of Akwa Ibom stakeholders to battle the same cause.

Investigations revealed that alarmed with the twist the trend is taking, against the sweeping support the APC is gaining by the day- and his political future hanging in the balance, the Governor is currently attempting to broker peace with all party stalwarts.

The major demand being made of him is dropping Udom as annointed candidate.

And according to indications to ensure continuous political relevance and give PDP much needed chance at providing a united front- Akpabio has little choice but to give in.
