“Aketi Good Customer!” PDP Members & Supporters Sing About Town, Jubilate In Ondo As Rotimi Akeredolu Emerges APC Guber Candidate

“Aketi customer Daada ni” (Aketi is a good customer) is the latest political slogan amongst members and supporters of Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state.

This development is in reference to the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of opposition party in the state, All Progressives Congress in the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

The slogan is also a clear jab at the electoral defeat in suffered in the same quest in 2012.
The PDP thumped Akeredolu and the party he represented back then, Action Congress of Nigeria to third place to secure re election of Governor Olusegun Mimiko and retain power in the state.

After a fierce primary election held on Saturday September 3 2016, Akeredolu is back again to make another attempt at becoming the governor of Ondo state.

And according to a source ‘’it is to his credit that he is re contesting on a much stronger platform, his former party ACN has entered into a merger that has gifted them control of the Federal Government as well as other states in the country and the new party APC has also absolved some of those worked to achieve his defeat in 2012 into it’s fold.

According to information available the stance of the party members and supporters is that ‘’we have done it before and we will do it again’’.

The battle to become the next of Ondo state is believed a straight one between PDP and APC.

While Rotimi Akeredolu is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Eyitayo Jegede is that of the People’s Democratic Party.

Interestingly both are esteemed member of the legal profession and decorated with the much sought after Senior Advocate of Nigeria recognition.

Added revelation available to societynowng.com revealed that the confidence of the PDP members and supporters in the state are buoyed by leaders of the party in the state and their track records despite it’s dismissive image at the national level – as well as calibre of sympathisers.

Piloting its affair and the campaign of the candidate Jegede is outgoing governor Olusegun Mimiko, a man who achieved position and attained power serial as an underdog.

Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunade Aladelusi has publicly come out to endorse Eyitayo Jegede as the next governor of the state on behalf of his domain.

There are said to underground threats of wrath of the gods of Akure on any subject of the town that dissent with the monarch’s choice.

Societynowng.com learnt these sentiments assure the PDP huge votes and complemented with the formidable and yet to be defeated political structure of governor Mimiko, the confidence of party members and supporters are said to be brimming over.

‘’And if you look at it like that, i guess they have good reasons to be singing good customer all over town’’ a source affirmed.

Another source who should known however claimed the sing song of ‘’Customer Daadani’’, ‘’Good Customer’’ in jubilation by PDP with emergence of Akeredolu as APC candidate is political.

‘’It is an electoral ploy meant to demoralise the opposition and their sympathisers by playing up his previous electoral defeat- and secure the sympathisers of the undecided voters as the winning team’’ the source pointed.

According to the inside the strength of the ploy lays in the confidence the PDP members and supporters are attaching to their new found slogan.

‘’it is political psychology with intent to demoralise ’’ the source stated emphatically.
