Akala’s Son, Olamiju Gets Back Council Chair Position In Father’s Negotiation With Tinubu

There are indications Olamiju Akala, son of former governor Adebayo Alao Akala would get back his position as chairman Ogbomoso North Local Government Area in Oyo State in couple of days.

Available information has it re installing Olamiju’s as council chairman forms part of conditions Akala gave delegation of All Progressives Congress that talked him into supporting APC candidate in the fourth coming gubernatorial election in Oyo State.

Olamiju was booted out by lawmakers of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area following his defection to Action Democratic Party.

ADP is the party his former governor father had indicated to contest for the state number one seat until the recent turn of event.

Ex banker and former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria Adebayo Adelabu is the candidate of All Progressives Congress in the coming Saturday march 9, 2019 Gubernatorial election in the state.

And Adelabu’s ambition to occupy Oyo state’s number one seat became a subject of threat following performance of the major opposition People’s Democratic Party during the presidential and national assembly elections.

Atiku scored polled 366,690 votes to defeat President Buhari who secured 365,229 votes in Oyo state.

Alao Akala is the candidate of Action Democratic Party in Oyo state.

And there are talks PDP’s Atiku Abubakar was his candidate for the presidential election.

The development, sources disclosed, forced APC leaders in the state and beyond to seek the support of the former governor ahead of the coming gubernatorial election.

As a matter of fact APC national leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu spearheaded the move for the ruling party.

Akala has reportedly dumped his governorship ambition but however took a stand he would support all ADP candidates for state assembly elections.

“OYO 2019: I’VE DECIDED TO FORM AN ALLIANCE WITH BAYO ADELABU WHILE ADP STATE HOUSE ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES GO TO THE POLLS WITH MY FULL SUPPORTS

Following the outcome of the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections, I, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala – the Oyo State 2019 Action Democratic Party (ADP), have decided to form an alliance with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Adebayo Adekola Adelabu ahead of the March 9th Governorship and state House of assembly Elections in the state. However, all the ADP candidates for the House of Assembly seats will go to the elections with my maximum supports.”
