Ajimobi’s Open Endorsement Of Lagos Senator “Yayi” As Next Gov Of Ogun State Causes “Big Problem”

There is an emerging rumpus in the political circles of Ogun state.

And this development is attributed to open and direct interference by Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi in the process to determine the next Governor of Ogun state.

Ajimobi at the weekend openly backed Lagos Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola popularly known as Yayi as the man to succeed outgoing governor Ibikunle Amosun.

The Oyo Governor made his stand known in the affairs of Ogun state during the 50th birthday celebration of Zhikrah, the wife of Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi at Ibadan over the weekend.

The development has attracted widespread reactions in Ogun Political circle.

In the All Progressives Congress, because it is an open secret that Governor Amosun is very keen to ensure Yayi does not succeed him.

The animosity between Yayi and Amosun is not hidden – and many are lampooning the Oyo Governor for openly working again against the interest of his colleague.

Other top-level stakeholders in the state are also said to have taken Ajimobi’s interference as “an affront”.

“The talks that Obasanjo is not supporting Yayi become he believes Tinubu is pulling strings to determine who becomes the governor of his state should tell you how his like view Ajimobi’s open endorsement of the same man” an insider stated.

Societynow gathered rather than boost his chances, Ajimobi’s move has only aligned the interest of forces against Yayi and turned him into the “face” of interests outside Ogun state working to hijack the government on the streets.

“It’s creating a big problem for him” a source stated.

“But I tell you that Tinubu in Lagos and Ajimobi in Oyo, both outside Ogun state are rooting for Yayi who is a sitting Senator outside of the state he wants to govern is certainly not helping the cause of the aspirant…Ogun state is not Osun and the stakeholders will fight hard to ensure they avoid the fate that befell Osun state” another source disclosed.
