Ajimobi To Be Buried Against Islamic Injunction

Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo state will be buried on Sunday, June 28, 2020.

His death was announced on June 25, 2020.

The announced date for the burial of the former governor is three days after his death against the dictate of his faith, Islam.

According to Islamic injunction, a Muslim should be buried before sundown on the day that death occurred, and if the death occurred after sundown the deceased should be buried latest by mid-day the next day.

Practitioners of the faith insist that there is no justification for delay of burial in Islam.

”The rule guiding it is very clear, before sundown of the day of death or before noon the next day, if death occurred after sundown” Societynow.ng learned.

Information released by the Lagos Government – Health Commissioner Akin Abayomi – revealed that Ajimobi died as of multiple organ failure.

The former Governor was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 infection at the time of his death.

A brief statement released by his media aide, Bolaji Tunji revealed that Ajimobi

“Barring any changes, his body will be interred at the Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque at Oke Ado, Ibadan, at noon on Sunday, June 28 after the traditional Muslim prayers.

“To ensure that strict COVID-19 protocols are adhered to and in light of the current circumstances of our national health challenges, the family appeals to the public to observe strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols in their participation.”
