Another victory for the Super Eagles at the ongoing African Cup of Nations and the official beer partners of the Nigerian Football Federation, “33” Export Lager beer has once again hailed the Eagles for putting up a brilliant performance.

Goals from Chukwueze, Awoniyi and Victor Simon secured the win over the Nile Crocodile of Sudan and an automatic qualification ticket to the Round of 16 for the Eagles side, led by Coach Augustine Eguavoen who won the AFCON trophy as a player back in 1994. The Eagles conceded a second-half penalty but didn’t look in much trouble throughout the game.

Senior Brand Manager, “33” Export Lager, Aishat Anaekwe while congratulating the boys said “this performance of the boys today showed that our win was not a flash in the pan. It also brought back fond memories of the 1994 team that Eguavoen was part of as well as the “33” export ambassador Jay-Jay Okocha.”

The Eagles who were not clinical in front of goal in the match against Egypt picked lessons from there and were more precise against Sudan. The first goal came early in the 3rd minute from Samuel Chukwueze. The Eagles held onto possession through most of the half and scored a second goal when Taiwo Awoniyi headed home from close range.

The second half started brightly with Victor Simon scoring his first goal after providing the assist for the first. VAR was centre-stage for a few minutes when it awarded a penalty to the Sudanese side for a tackle in the Nigerian box. W. Khidir slotted home for the Nile Crocodiles but the Eagles dominated the game.

The Eagles looked comfortable throughout the match, enjoying most of the possession and more shots on goal. They play their next game against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau on Tuesday at 8pm.
