As former Governor Ibikunle Amosun turned 68 on Sunday, one of his closest political allies, former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly Muyiwa Oladipo, joined the growing chorus of celebrants to praise the influential politician’s leadership and legacy.

Oladipo, who served as a multiple-term commissioner during Amosun’s administration between 2011 and 2019, described the former governor as “a reliable and supportive leader,” highlighting the deep political bond between the two men.

He said, “Senator Ibikunle Amosun is a man of conviction. He has always stood by those who served with him, and he has remained consistent in his principles.”

Over the years, Oladipo has become one of the most prominent members of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA) political family, positioning himself as a trusted ally and key strategist within the group.

In his tribute, Oladipo also credited Amosun for supporting landmark projects that continue to define the former governor’s tenure, including The Drum Festival, a signature cultural initiative that became one of the most celebrated events during the Amosun administration.

The former commissioner created the concept.

He added, “The Drum Festival was not just a cultural event; it was a statement of identity for Ogun State. Senator Amosun believed in our heritage and gave it a platform that echoes its relevance, even after his administration.”

The birthday celebration, ongoing at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been described by political observers as “a huge political statement,” drawing attendees from all 236 wards across the state and beyond.

The event, which attracted top political figures and grassroots supporters alike, underscored Amosun’s enduring influence within Ogun politics and his continued relevance ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

As the birthday tributes continued to pour in, the event further reinforced Amosun’s image as a political force whose reach extends well beyond party lines, uniting supporters from diverse backgrounds under his leadership.
