Lagos To Stop Friday Juma’at, Sunday Church Services & Open Religious Worships Over Coronavirus

The Lagos state government is strongly considering putting a stop to open religious worships as parts of efforts to combat the threats of coronavirus.

The popular Friday, Juma’at and Sunday Church Services are top on the list of open worships to be affected.

Societynow.ng gathered that commissioner for information in Lagos state, Gbenga Omotosho provided hints on this development during a media briefing today – Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

The Commissioner disclosed that religious leaders will be advised to shut down services in the interest of the public.

Covid-19 better known as Coronavirus has attained the height of global threats with countries, including Nigeria shutting down its borders from countries battling a high rate of infection.

Lagos which is the main entry point – by flight – into Nigeria is the first line of defense against infection from the outside world.
