Amosun Invites All Ogun Youths To Town Hall Meeting As Political Crisis Rages

Published

Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun has invited all the youths in Ogun state to a town hall meeting.

The event is scheduled for tomorrow- Thursday, October 25, 2018 – in state capital Abeokuta.

This development comes in face of multiple moves that has greatly weakened the hold of the Governor on his political party, the All Progressives Congress and political influence in the state.

Amosun has been denied the chance to determine his successor.

The governor’s preferred candidate Adekunle Akinlade was denied the gubernatorial ticket by forces that secured the slot for Amosun’s estranged friend Dapo Abiodun.

And to compound, the situation for the governor, virtually all the tickets to other elective posts he won for his loyalists have been taken away in moves that decimate his political influence.

As he faces this political crisis and bedeviled with talks of possible defection to another political party – which he has denied – the Governor has now put the arrangement in place to stage a town hall meeting with all youths in the state tomorrow.

Though the trending invitation is silent on the reason for the planned engagement with Ogun youths sources disclosed to societynow.ng that speculation is rife it is not unconnected with the political trouble of the embattled governor.
