Federal Fire Service Makes Nigeria’s First Attendance At World Fire Congress

Nigeria is participating in the World Fire Congress (WFC) for the first time, as the Controller-General, Federal Fire Service, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, MBA, MDRM, FCNA, ACTI, led a three-man delegation of the Service to the 2026 Congress in London, United Kingdom.

The delegation arrived at the QEII Centre, Westminster, London, on Monday, 7 September 2026, and completed registration ahead of the commencement of the Congress today, Tuesday, 8 September 2026.

The World Fire Congress is a global forum that brings together fire and emergency service leaders from different countries to share experiences, exchange knowledge and strengthen cooperation on fire safety and emergency response. The 2026 edition is being hosted by the United Kingdom’s National Fire Chiefs Council, following the inaugural Congress held in Washington, D.C., in 2024.

As of Monday evening, delegates from 64 countries had registered for the Congress, with more expected to arrive today.

Nigeria’s participation marks the country’s first appearance at the World Fire Congress and provides the Federal Fire Service with an opportunity to engage with fire and emergency service leaders from around the world and exchange knowledge and experiences in fire and emergency management.
