The setting made the idea particularly fitting. Located at the heart of movement, with access to the private jet terminal and a steady rhythm of travellers arriving and departing, Legend Lagos Airport Hotel is naturally associated with schedules and transit. For one evening, however, it became a setting that encouraged guests to slow down, reconnect and appreciate the value of taking time.

Built around The Art of Time, the evening found a natural connection with The Macallan. Long before a bottle of its single malt whisky reaches the table, time has already played its part. The brand’s exceptional oak casks are crafted and seasoned for years, while the whisky itself is left to mature patiently, sometimes for decades. There are no shortcuts to the process.

That philosophy unfolded through a curated dining and whisky experience, with guests exploring expressions from The Macallan’s Double Cask and Sherry Oak collections. Brand Ambassador and Educator Daniel Atteh guided the experience, sharing insights into the craftsmanship, character and stories behind each pour.

But perhaps the most interesting thing about the evening was not what was served on the plate or poured into the glass. It was what guests were being invited to leave behind for a few hours: urgency.

For people whose days are shaped by packed schedules and constant decisions, the ability to sit through dinner without rushing, follow a conversation without checking the clock and appreciate what is in front of them has become increasingly rare.
