Osun Guber: “Time For Action Has Come!” – Adeleke In Last-minute Call For Workers To Mobilise For His Victory

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has charged workers across the state to mobilise their relatives, friends and other residents to vote massively in Saturday’s governorship election and defend their votes.
Adeleke, who declared that “the time for action has come”, also urged workers to work for the continuity of what he described as the gains recorded by his administration in the last three and a half years.
The governor gave the charge in a pre-election message to Osun workers, while commending labour leaders and civil servants for their support for his administration.
He said the relationship between his government and workers had remained mutually beneficial, describing his administration as workers-friendly.
“The time for action has come. As formal workers at state establishments, I task you to mobilise informal workers, artisans and professional bodies. We must remain strong in defence of our constitutional rights to vote and be voted for.
“We must defend the gains of the last three and half years plus. Ours is a workers friendly government which has delivered across board to labour and Osun people. We cannot and must not allow a return to dark days,” Adeleke said.
Meanwhile, the state government has declared Friday, August 14, a work-free day for public servants ahead of the election.
In a circular issued by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, the decision was taken to enable workers who need to travel to do so and prepare to exercise their franchise on Saturday.
The circular stated that all categories of workers were covered by the declaration, except those engaged in emergency and essential duties.
Adeleke urged the workers to use the opportunity to participate actively in the electoral process, stressing the need to protect their constitutional right to vote.
