Gov Mutfwang In “Profound Sorrow” Over Passing Of Filmmaker Bimbo Atiya

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of renowned filmmaker, acclaimed Nollywood producer, and patriotic Nigerian, Dimbo Atiya, describing his death as a painful and monumental loss to the nation, the creative industry, and the countless lives he touched through his work.
In a condolence message, Governor Mutfwang described the late Dimbo Atiya as a towering figure in Nigeria’s film industry, a steadfast friend of Plateau State, and an exceptional creative talent whose contributions significantly advanced the growth and development of the nation’s entertainment Industry.
The Governor noted that Atiya, winner of the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Best Africa Magic Original Drama Series, distinguished himself through excellence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling.
He described him as a reservoir of knowledge, creativity, and inspiration who nurtured and mentored countless young talents, many of whom have gone on to make significant contributions to the film industry.
Governor Mutfwang stated that the demise of the accomplished filmmaker is both tragic and heartbreaking, particularly for the people of Plateau State, who enjoyed a longstanding and cordial relationship with him through his numerous engagements and invaluable contributions to the state’s creative and cultural landscape.
He extolled Atiya’s virtues of integrity, professionalism, visionary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to youth development, noting that his wealth of experience, sound counsel, and passion for discovering and nurturing emerging talents will be sorely missed by the creative community and the nation at large.
On behalf of his family, the Government, and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Nigerian film industry, friends, associates, and all those mourning this painful loss. He prayed that Almighty God grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and comforts all who grieve his passing.
