Kwankwaso Names NDC’s Kano Guber Candidate, Flagbearer For Central Senatorial District

The National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has announced the emergence of Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo as the gubernatorial candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the forthcoming Kano governorship election.

Kwankwaso also disclosed that Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna would fly the party’s flag for the Kano Central Senatorial District seat in the coming elections.

The former Kano State governor made the announcement on Friday in a social media narrative to party faithful ahead of the party’s affirmation exercise.

According to him, the choice of the candidates was guided by the principles of “equity, fairness, loyalty and competence.”

“Alhamdulillah! I am delighted to announce that His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has been selected as our Kano NDC gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming elections,” Kwankwaso wrote.

And, added “Similarly, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna will contest for the Kano Central Senatorial Seat.”

Kwankwaso stated that the decision reflected the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya movement and the commitment of the party to unity and progress.

“This decision was made in the spirit of equity, fairness, loyalty, and competence — values that remain central to our party and Kwankwasiyya’s progress and unity,” he asserted.

The former presidential candidate further prayed for a peaceful and successful affirmation process, expressing confidence in the party’s chances at the polls.

“As we proceed with today’s affirmation exercise, I pray for a seamless, peaceful, and successful process. May Almighty Allah grant us resounding victory in the forthcoming elections. Ameen,” he said.
