President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a validation of his visionary and disciplined approach to governance.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the president said Soludo’s success at the polls was a reflection of the confidence the people of Anambra have in his leadership and the significant progress made under his administration.

Tinubu noted that the former Central Bank governor has continued to demonstrate that “knowledge is power,” applying academic principles in practical governance to promote accountability, transparency, and prudent management of public resources.

He recalled his visit to Anambra State in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, and commended what he called the “good thinking” behind the initiatives. According to him, the experience left a lasting impression.

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu said.

The president urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and seek the cooperation of his opponents in the interest of continued peace and progress in the state. He assured the governor of the federal government’s support and expressed optimism about continued collaboration between Abuja and Awka.

Tinubu also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible election, describing the exercise as a demonstration of Nigeria’s growing democratic maturity.

He further praised the new INEC chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for their conduct, urging them to sustain and improve on the standards achieved.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance in the election again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied,” Tinubu added.

The president concluded by reaffirming his commitment to deepening Nigeria’s democracy through credible elections and inclusive governance across the federation.
