48hrs After He Was Dared, Demola Adeleke Quiet About Sacked 12,000 Osun Workers

48hours after his claim of reversing the appointment of twelve thousand (12,000) workers employed at the twilight of the administration of the immediate past Governor Gboyega Oyetola has been branded false and unfounded, new Governor of Osun state Demola Adeleke, 62, is yet to validate his assertions.

This is in the face of an open dare by Ismail Omipidan for Governor Adeleke to prove that Oyetola employed 12,000 workers towards the end of his administration by publishing the names.

Omidipan was the Chief Press Secretary to Oyetola and insists that claims that the immediate past Governor employed 12,00 workers are “not only false but unfounded.”

The former Chief Press Secretary emphatically, stated his position in a social media post on Monday, November 28, 2022.

In daring the Adeleke administration to publish the names of the “purported 12,000 workers”, Omipidan asked rhetorically “What is the entire workforce of the State?” and threw what he described as a reminder to the new government that “Once a lie is told, you need a one and thousand lies to cover it up.” and asserted that “in no distant future, the people of Osun will know who the real liars are.”

A former Senator who represented Osun- West senatorial district from 2017 to 2019, Adeleke was sworn-in as the 6th Governor of Osun state on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

He immediately made executive pronouncements that reversed the policies and actions of past administrations, including the suspension of newly installed traditional rulers for a review of the process and the disengagement of the disputed 12,000 workers.

The Governor has, however, not released the list of the names of the affected workers despite emerging disputes over the figure and the challenge by the former Governor Oyetola’s spokesperson.
