Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has put aside his animosity and join hands with other stakeholders to make Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the next President of Nigeria.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state – 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007 – is the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election.

The minister was part of a recent strategy meeting with Tinubu and other stakeholders in Abuja .

Others at the meeting that publicly proclaimed the end of ruffled feathers between Tinubu and Aregbesola are Senator Abadulfatai Buhari. Senator Ajibola Basiru and Doctor Yinus Akintunde according to a post monitored by SocietyNow.Ng on the social media page of Lagos council chairman (Isola LCDA) Bayo Olasoju – a pro tinubu campaigner.

They all took a picture together after the meeting.

Aregbesola a hardcore Tinubu supporter, fell out with the front-runner in the race to determine Nigeria’s next president over who becomes the next Governor of Osun state.

The Minister who is also a former governor of Osun state – 27 November 2010 to 27 November 2018 – kicked against the second-term ambition of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

And refused to be part of the governor’s re-election campaign, opting to travel out of the country on election day.

The development is believed to contribute hugely to Oyetola’s loss in the July 16, Osun gubernatorial election.

Oyetola polled 375,027 while serial challenger, Demola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) got 403,371 votes to claim victory.

In a related move, he supported Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who secured 235 votes against Tinubu who got 1,271 votes at the APC congress held in June 2022 to determine the presidential candidate.

Aregbesola stayed away from the Tinubu council after the back-to-back development with others in-between, but it appears that the Presidential candidate welcomed as part of the process of “internal healing” within the party to make it as formidable as ever.
