Video: No “Impeachment” Mentioned In Removal Of Obasa As Lagos Speaker

Contrary to his claims, there was no use of the word “impeachment” in the removal of Mudashiru Obasa as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Obasa was removed on Monday, January 13, 2025, while he was outside the country.

He returned to the state on Saturday, January 25, 2025, kicking against his removal during a gathering with his supporters.

A video of the process that led to his removal on the floor of the House disputes his assertion that “impeachment” was used.

Although he claims he remains Speaker, stakeholders and those familiar with the proceedings of the Lagos Assembly and the rules guiding its operations insist his removal “stands.”

Obasa, who was replaced by Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, had been Speaker since 2015.
