Emerging details have revealed the untold story of how council chairmen in Ogun State got into the financial mess that is crippling their operations.

Bankers of the councils, acting on a court order, have shut down their bank accounts.

The case that brought out this development was reportedly instituted by politicians battling to get their severance package from the state government.

Societynow.ng, however, learned that case that brought this development was inherited by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun from that of immediate past Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

“I doubt whether the new government was aware of the case hence the judgment that caught it unawares” societynow.ng learned.

The information available revealed that the council chairmen became aware of the shutdown of their bank accounts last week and the situation remained the same till press time.

Societynow.ng gathered that the “politicians” that brought the case against the Ogun state government during the tenure of Amosun as Governor towards the end of his 2nd term administration.

Governor Dapo Abiodun and his handlers are believed to be “studying” the situation to determine the best way to unravel the logjam.
