Total Nigeria’s MD Alexis Vovk Bow Out In Hail Of Commendation As New Man Jean- Philippe Torres Takes Over In Midst Of Great Expectations

A send-forth party was held in honour of Mr. Alexis Vovk, the out-going Managing Director, Total Nigeria Plc, and his successor, Mr. Jean-Philippe Torres respectively on April 13, 2016 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. This heartwarming occasion was well attended by members of the Board of Directors, staff, partners, customers, media and other invited guests.Mr. Vovk expressed deep gratitude to staff, management and key stakeholders for their immense contribution to the company’s success and growth in these past years while enjoining their continued support to the new Managing Director.
Thereafter, Mr. Jean-Philippe Torreswas formally introduced amidst cheers and well wishes by the distinguished audience as he was handed the key of office by his predecessor. He recognized and appreciated the many achievements of the company under the leadership of Alexis Vovk.Amongst the Tributes to Alexis Vovk were those of Prince Jeff Nnamani on behalf of the Executive Committee, Mrs. Olabisi Uwaoma, Mr. Innocent Aimiator, and former members of the company’s Executive Committee Engr. Chibeze Anyafuluand Engr. Koleade Adegunle.
The General Manager (HSEQ), Mr. RabiuAbdulMutalib gave the citation of Mr. Alexis Vovk noting that he Joined Total 23 years ago in the United Kingdom (UK) and have since worked in 7 countries. He also highlighted how his dynamic leadership was instrumental in reinforcing the company’s position as leader in the Downstream Oil & Gas industry.A key highlight of the event includes a video presentation of Alexis Vovk’s achievements which illustrated his accomplishments accross the various business segments some of which include the successful launch of the 1st Total solar service-station, fully powered by SunPower in Africa and Middle-East, Total service station, Onigbagbo on June 12, 2014; Total Nigeria service stations Onigbagbo and Western Avenue being the first in Nigeria to be certified to ISO 14001: 2004 Standard by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON); diversification of the SFS section of the business to improve revenue and value offerings to customers;major lubricant partnerships with TATA Motors, Sany Motors Nigeria and KIA Motors; and elimination of work at heights for tank demolition activities.
