Suspended Ogun Council Boss Adeniji Sweeps Highway To Appease Gov Amosun

Friday, September 15 2017, the governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun suspended the chairman of Ado Odo Ota Oladele Adeniji for three months without pay.

The troubled council boss is the son of late state chairman of Amosun’s political party, All Progressives Congress.

Reason for his suspension?

The governor who was on his way to Ipokia area of Ogun state passed through Adeniji’s area of administration and proclaimed the place very dirty.

“The governor got to Oju Ore (a part of Adeniji’s council) and saw a very dusty and refuse filled environment, he stopped his convoy and called Adeniji to come join him” a source disclosed.

The council chairman who had planned a reception for Governor Amosun at the secretariat with thoughts of a stop over by “his excellency”, was said to have hurriedly left his “people” to meet the state helmsman.

“He met a furious Amosun who confronted him with the state of the environment and used it as a yardstick to determine the level of the council chairman’s competence” a source stated.

And continued “but rather than letting the governor blow steam, the council boss started arguing with him with excuses of trying to make things work with his best efforts”.

Societynow gathered the council boss’ approach only further infuriated the Governor who told him to shut up and tongue lashed him right in front of the spectators that gathered to watch the drama.

The governor was said to have made a phone call on the spot and was heard telling the person on the other end “write a letter that immediately suspends the chairman of Ado Odo Ota for three months without pay”.

The chairman was said to have immediately turned jittery and started pleading with the Governor, who immediately jumped into his vehicle and his convoy zoomed.

Rather than leave the spot, the embattled council boss was said to have immediately organized sweepers and joined them in sweeping the highway – and its environs.

Sources disclose he made the move in hope words of it would get back to the governor and help soften his heart in reversing the suspension order.

The councilman is said to be making desperate pleas to the governor to upturn the suspension.
