Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki’s Ilorin home in Kwara State was burgled in the early hours of Friday morning.

Sen. Saraki’s house is located at Ilofa road at GRA in the same location with that of his late father, ex-senate leader, Olusola Saraki and his younger sister, Sen Gbemi Saraki.
Opposite the house is a lotto kiosk called Abegi anu (under the favoured tree) where individuals with questionable characters hang out.

The perpetrators entered the property and stole millions of naira.
A source told OrijoReporter that the amount the burglars stole was N11m but another said it was N23m.

However, officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC], who are responsible for security within and around the buildings, and others suspected to have masterminded the stealing have been arrested, and detained at the state police command.
It is believed that insiders were behind the crime.
