Politcians Linked To Kidnapping, Terror Sponsorship Should Be Banned – Ben Bruce
called for stricter eligibility rules for political candidates in Nigeria
Former Senator Ben Murray Bruce has called for stricter eligibility rules for political candidates in Nigeria, suggesting that anyone involved in kidnapping, terrorism, or ransom demands should be automatically disqualified from contesting elections.
Speaking on social media today, Bruce proposed that all politicians undergo lie detector tests administered by an international body to verify their integrity before standing for office. “Anyone involved in kidnapping, acts/sponsoring of terrorism, or asking for ransom should be disqualified from contesting in any elective office in Nigeria,” he stated.
The former lawmaker’s comments underscore growing calls for accountability and higher ethical standards in Nigeria’s political system, sparking debates about how criminal conduct should affect political participation.
