Julius Berger MD Lubasch Visits BUA Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu, Explores Prospects With Leading Conglomerate
“aligning visions for future growth,”
Peer Lubasch, Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has paid a courtesy visit to Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, at the conglomerate’s headquarters in Lagos.
The meeting focused on ongoing Julius Berger projects for BUA Group across its business divisions, while also exploring prospects for future collaboration.
Industry sources noted that the discussion underscored the long-standing relationship between both companies.
“The visit was not just about reviewing current work but also about aligning visions for future growth,” one insider familiar with the discussions said.
Among other high-impact infrastructural projects, BUA Group—whose operations span cement, foods, infrastructure, and energy—is handling the 49-kilometre Eiyenkorin-Afon-Ojoku-Offa-Odo Otin road project in Kwara State, which Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq recently described as “first-class quality” during an inspection. The governor also labeled another long stretch, the Bode Sadu-Kosubosu road being constructed by the conglomerate in the state, as “solid.”
In recent years, BUA Group has embarked on an ambitious expansion strategy, ranging from cement production and sugar refining to energy and infrastructure projects.
Analysts believe that deepening collaboration with Julius Berger could further strengthen the Group’s capacity to deliver on its expansion targets while contributing to Nigeria’s broader industrialisation agenda.
The meeting comes at a time when Nigerian conglomerates are increasingly seeking strategic partnerships with both global and local contractors to fast-track project execution and maintain competitive advantage in key sectors of the economy.
