The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision is after Chinedu, the first son of Governor of Abia state, T.A Orji and the state’s commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Emmanuel Nwabuko.

And this development is said to have forced them o shun favoured places that make them accessible.

Information filtering in attributes this occurrence to allegations of N67b fraud against the duo.

According to informants the Local Governments have been run by unelected local government committees.

Chinedu, the governor’s son with strong influence amongst his government cabinet members had leveraged on rapport with the commissioner in charge, Emmanuel Nwabuko to overtime divert funds meant for the local council.

Chinedu is said to derive his power from open knowledge he is his father’s ears and eyes on the street. And controls the army of loyalists needed for unofficial actions.

The protracted fight with between his father and his ex political leader and former Governor of the state, Orji Uzor Kalu had forced Governor Orji to upgrade someone he deems very unlikely to betray him, his son to the unofficial position of number to man.

Informants further revealed both the Governor’s son and the commissioner at the centre of the alleged fraud are currently dodging invitation by the EFCC to answer questions on petition about the mega misappropriation.

Further revelations have it that the EFCC is looking at employing stronger measures to get them come answer question on the issues as investigation into the matter deepens.
