The integrated telecommunications service provider, Globacom, will this Friday take its flagship music concert, the Glo Campus Storm, to the Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki.

The Glo Campus Storm is a nationwide student-oriented music concert, which is currently making waves on Nigerian campuses. The concert has already been held in seven other campuses with Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, playing host to the show last Friday.

Other tertiary institutions that had before now hosted the current edition of the concert are the University of Port Harcourt where it kicked off on October 7; the Enugu campus of University of Nigeria; Federal Polytechnic, Nekede; University of Uyo, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and Abia State University, Uturu.

With the students and staff members of the institution already gearing up for the highly popular event, major highlights at the EBSU concert will include among others, a dancing and singing competition, comedy, beauty pageantry and music from up and coming artistes as well as top rated Nigerian superstars.

Artistes lined up to perform at the EBSU edition of the concert are the duo of Marvin Records protégées, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks and the new hip hop star, Runtown. Globacom BrandAmbassador and ace comedian, Bovi, is expected to spice up the event with his trademark jokes, while anchoring the event, with DJ Neptune at the music console.

In addition, there will also be a beauty pageant competition to determine the best dude and best diva on the campus. Called the Glo Campus Data Diva and Glo Campus Data Dude, the competition will produce ten winners from EBSU.

Globacom revealed that “10 winners in each campus will receive up to N100,000 each, with all the 240 winners vying for the “Glo Data Dude” and “Glo Data Diva” coveted crowns at the grand finale. The two top winners in each category (male and female) will each win N1 million in scholarships in addition to being signed on as Globacom Brand Ambassadors. They will also get special invitations to all Globacom-organized events and shows such as the Glo-CAF Awards, Glo Laffta Fest and Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce concerts”.

The company urged students and members of the university community wishing to attend the concert to recharge their Glo lines with just N500 campus data plan and qualify to be admitted into the venue.
