The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has issued a national road traffic advisory to motorists over a temporary one-day traffic diversion along the Kaduna–Zaria axis of the A2 Highway.

The diversion is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, at DK825, Kwaranza Village, where the highway intersects with the Kaduna–Kano Rail Line.

According to the FRSC, the traffic diversion, which will take place between 8am and 2pm, is to facilitate the inspection of railway bridge beams under the Kaduna–Kano Rail Modernisation Project.

The Corps said only one lane of the dual carriageway would be open to traffic during the exercise.

It added that appropriate caution signs, cones and diversion markers would be deployed, while FRSC patrol teams would be stationed at the location to manage traffic and ensure the safety of road users.

The FRSC advised motorists using the route to reduce their speed and exercise extreme caution while approaching and passing through the diversion.

Motorists were also advised to avoid overtaking around the diversion, plan their journeys ahead and use alternative routes where possible.

The Corps urged road users to strictly comply with all traffic control devices and instructions from FRSC personnel at the scene.

For further enquiries and assistance, motorists may contact the Kaduna Sector Command on 09139600011, Zaria Unit Command on 09139601839 or 09139601840, or the National Toll-Free Line on 122.

The FRSC urged motorists to drive safely and obey traffic rules.
