Alleged assailants of a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Gideon Aremu have been arrested by the State Police Command.

The lawmaker was reportedly killed by four suspected assassins who trailed him to his Alakia residence on July, 1 2016.

The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, in a statement yesterday said the arrest was made possible by a combined team of the Intelligence Response of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and detectives from the Oyo State Police Command.
He said the suspects would be paraded today at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan. Before his sudden death, the legislator who represented Oorelope constituency was the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Public Relations and Security.

His death generated heated controversy in the state which prompted Governor Abiola Ajimobi to promise N5m booty for whoever could supply information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.
