Emerging details have it that top shots of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State are already thinking ahead of the declaration of the winner of the state’s gubernatorial election by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
Societynow.ng gathered that the leadership of the party has fashioned out a general idea on what to do should re-election seeking Governor Rotimi Akeredolu be declared the winner of the gubernatorial election which held yesterday, Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Akeredolu maintains a clear lead in the number of results declared so far while Eyitayo Jegede candidate of the PDP retains the second spot with deputy governor Agboola Ajayi, the flag bearer of Zenith Labour (ZLP) is a distant third.

Societynow.ng learned the PDP has decided to go to court should Akeredolu emerge the winner of the Ondo Gubernatorial election.
‘’The PDP leaders believe there is more than sufficient grounds to institute a court case and secure victory through the judiciary’’ Societynow.ng learned.
Insiders disclosed that the party leaders are currently collating pieces of evidence of different electoral infractions, including seizing of ballot boxes and outright violence that resulted in the hospitalization of some party officials during the election.
Societynow.ng gathered that the ‘’the decision has been taken, the party will go to court should Akeredolu emerged the winner.’’
Insiders disclosed that party of the pieces of evidence the PDP will rely on are ‘’ documented ‘’ activities of the men of a young government infamous for slogans that promote electoral violence.
‘’The PDP leaders are of the conviction that even if the party candidate, Jegede is declared the winner of the gubernatorial election these are issues that would not be gloss over not to talk of if Akeredolu is announced winner’’ societynow.ng learned.
According to added revelation, ‘’Their conviction is that whatever votes are credited to Jegede by INEC he would have gotten more if not for actions that reduced his votes.’’
