The Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun has issued a stern warning on the undergoing construction Shagamu-Interchange – Abeokuta road.

Shagamu – Interchange – Abeokuta road is being handled by Laralek Construction owned by Lekan Adebiyi – and his wife Lara.

The company name, Laralek is a coinage of their names Lekan and Lara.

The couple also owns Addas Ultimate Limited the company which claims ownership of the Addas Mall, the huge money investment in Agidingbi Lagos that some finger Bolale, the wife of Ex-Governor Ambode as the real owner.

Laralek is labeled as one of the major beneficiaries of government patronage during the one-term tenure of Ambode.

Societynow.ng gathered that the Shagamu- Interchange – Abeokuta road that the company is handling in Ogun State as attracted concerns over growing accidents, including tragic ones.

And different excuses have been given for this growing concern.

While some blame the manner the construction work is been done, others pin the blame on road users and lack of patience in getting free from traffic occasioned restricted movement as a result of ongoing work.

Governor Abiodun, obviously concerned by happening at the place has lent his voice to the development.

Without appearing to single out the Shagamu – Interchange – Abeokuta road, the Governor on Sunday, August 30, 2020, released a short statement that reads

‘’It has become necessary, as a precautionary move, for me to urge the motoring public using the Sagamu-Interchange-Abeokuta Road as well as others currently being constructed by our Administration, to drive carefully on these roads.

Engineers working on these roads would usually seal off one of two dualised lanes, so that as work continues on one, traffic flow may be managed on the other. This warrants a strict “no parking” policy on the open lane on which motorists are strongly advised not to overtake other vehicles. Also, that engineers are working on the closed lane does not preclude the need to obey instructions on speeding, diversions, and careful driving around construction vehicles and equipment.

Our Administration is keen on delivering these many road projects in target time, but I must plead with the good people of Ogun State to bear with us as we ensure they are completed and in the best, reliable condition.’’
