Finally, celebrated church headman, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua has gone to the law court to stop his appearance at the probe panel set up to look circumstances surrounding the collapse of a six storey building belonging to his Synagogue Church Of All Nation’s and the attendant high ratio of death and injured.

This development comes after a lengthy hide and seek game, with the panel that saw the preacher fondly called T.B.J- by fans- dodge invitation at every turn.

The lead person at the probe panel officially called Coroner Inquest had, Oyetade Komolafe had threatened to lay siege with the police at the Ikotun Egbe, Lagos site of the Church to effect his arrest, if the prophet spurned any other invitation.

While this drama was on, a third party had gone to court on grounds of ‘interested party’ for blockade of continuous invitation of Prophet Joshua by the probe panel.

The court had thrown out the case on grounds of lack of merit.

And faced with the threat of the Coroner to forcefully arrest and bring him before the Panel – with no legal cover to hide – the internationally celebrated preacher has gone to court.

And his lawyer, Olalekan Ojo leveraged on this development to keep the Panel at bay- the court rule on applications tendered.

The SCOAN overseer is seeking the court to declare invitation to appear before the probe panel as a witness a breach of his right of fair hearing- since no case had been proved against him.

Additionally, according to the Pastor’s lawyer the suit also seek to establish that, the panel ‘has been extending and it is still extending its inquisitions into areas outside the statutory jurisdiction of the coroner court’

The Judge in charge of the case Justice Lateefat Okunnu, has slated hearing for Wednesday December 3 2014.

Sources disclosed the ploy a strategic move to buy more time as his foot soldiers increase underground efforts to reach compromise with the authorities.
