Some even took up spots on radio stations to congratulate the former Governor of Ogun State (May 29, 2011, to May 29, 2019).
Checks revealed that this was the most pronounced celebration of Amosun’s birthday since he left elected political office.
The chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), recognized as a major voice in deciding the next Governor of Ogun State, capped off the recognition with a private get-together at his Lagos residence.
“He hosted some of his loyalists and friends at his GRA Lagos residence in celebration of his new age. Nothing fancy, just something simple and classy, providing an environment to rub minds with his top men,” insiders disclosed.
However, keen watchers of political events in Ogun State believe the intentionality surrounding this birthday celebration signals a strong re-awakening of his political machinery ahead of the next general election.
His SIA (Senator Ibikunle Amosun) political structure remains one of the three most powerful in the Ogun APC and among the top four influential groups across party lines in the state.
