Erelu Kuti of Lagos, Abiola Dosunmi believes acting president Yemi Osinbajo is ill advised on his handling of the agitation for the declaration of the republic of Biafara.

The popular name about to turn 70 in a couple of weeks says the Acting President shouldn’t have attended the anniversary lecture staged by the promoters of the republic of Biafra agenda.

‘’What signal were you sending’’ she asked rhetorically in an exclusive chat with societynow.ng.

‘’I think it’s totally wrong’’ she stated emphatically.

‘’the acting president and a former general and head of state were there, and after seeing that other tribes started, the Arewa Youth get up and say start packing your bag because naturally you can do your Biafra in their territory and the Oodua started protesting …

‘’I think it was misguided, short sighted and ill advised…yes, if the lecture was called by government to remind of something that was wrong and bring it to the consciousness of the people to serve as a deterrent but not like this and this was something that was declared illegal and condemned about 50years ago ’’

Obviously angry with the recognition given to the reawakening of an agenda that cost the nation heavily in lives and otherwise, Erelu who is very familiar with the workings of government stated further ‘’lets not take away from the General Gowon, he said there was no victor and no vanquished and gave everybody equal opportunity and after this an Igbo man became the number two citizen of the nation’’

Commenting on the calls for sack of different tribes from different parts of the country Erelu Kuti has strong qualifiers for the development that has sprouted hate speeches here and there ‘’that is the most stupid comments I have heard..Everybody is nursing something, agitating for something, someone will always have an edge..Fingers are not equal but it’s how we manage it that keeps us together’’

And naturally, the popular socialite puts the blame for the present phase of tribal conflicts rocking the nation on the door steps of ‘’our leaders’’

She insists the poor handling is what is making the crisis to cascade to different parts of the nation’s sphere.
