BUA Group Warns Public Over Stock Market Training Using Chairman Rabiu’s Photo

BUA Group has warned members of the public against online advertisements promoting a purported free stock market training programme using the image of its Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, without his authorisation.
The company, in a disclaimer, said the advertisements could mislead unsuspecting members of the public into believing that Rabiu was involved in, sponsoring or endorsing the training.
It clarified that neither Rabiu nor BUA Group and its affiliated companies had any connection with the programme.
“Our attention has been drawn to multiple online adverts on a purported Free Stock Market Training using our Executive Chairman’s image, Abdul Samad Rabiu (CFR, CON), to give the unsuspecting members of public the impression of his involvement, sponsorship, or support for the said free training,” the company said.
BUA Group stressed that it had neither sponsored nor hosted the purported training and had not authorised any individual or organisation to organise it on its behalf.
“We hereby state that neither our Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu (CFR, CON), nor BUA Group or any of its affiliated companies are a party, a sponsor or host of this purported free training, and has not commissioned any person(s)/organization(s) to do such on its behalf,” it further declared.
The company urged Nigerians to exercise caution when engaging with suspicious investment-related advertisements, particularly those that use the names or images of prominent business figures to create an impression of credibility.
And, also advised members of the public to report suspicious links and individuals claiming to represent Rabiu, BUA Group or its businesses to the appropriate security agencies for investigation and necessary action.
The warning comes amid concerns over online schemes that exploit the identities of public figures and established companies to attract unsuspecting participants. Such impersonation can make fraudulent offers appear legitimate, particularly when they promise free training or opportunities to participate in financial markets.
BUA Group advised the public to verify information about its activities through its official communication channels and corporate websites.
The company listed its websites as www.buagroup.com, www.buacement.com, www.buafoodsplc.com, www.buagypsumplaster.com, www.buaestate.com and www.asrafrica.org.
It urged Nigerians to rely on verified sources for updates about Rabiu and the group’s businesses rather than advertisements or unsolicited messages making unconfirmed claims about their involvement in investment opportunities.
