“My Egbon, A Man Of Conviction, Vision, And Uncommon Energy” — Adeleke Hails Aregbesola
describing him as “a man of conviction, vision, and uncommon energy.”
The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has felicitated with former Governor of Osun State and immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on the occasion of his 69th birthday, describing him as “a man of conviction, vision, and uncommon energy.”
In a congratulatory message signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke said Aregbesola remains “a significant figure in the political evolution of Osun State,” acknowledging his contributions to governance and public service over the years.
“Today, I celebrate my dear Egbon, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, as he marks his 69th birthday,” Adeleke said.
“He is a man of conviction, vision, and uncommon energy, whose passion for service and commitment to societal advancement have earned him recognition and respect across Nigeria,” the governor stated.
Adeleke noted that Aregbesola’s years in public office were marked by initiatives in governance, grassroots development and youth-focused programmes, adding that his role in the development of Osun State remains part of the state’s political history.
According to him, “Ogbeni Aregbesola has, through decades of active public service, contributed immensely to the democratic growth and infrastructural development of Osun State and our nation.”
“Regardless of political differences, history will always acknowledge his role and impacts in shaping modern Osun,” Adeleke added.
The governor further said: “I join his family, political associates, friends, and numerous well-wishers in celebrating a leader whose life reflects dedication, courage, and service to humanity.”
Adeleke also prayed for good health and more years for the former governor, asking Allah to grant him “abundant grace, wisdom, and many more years of meaningful contributions to the progress, peace, and prosperity of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The governor’s message comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the next Osun governorship election, with Aregbesola still regarded as an influential political figure in the state.
The former governor, who has since parted ways with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is now associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a platform being positioned by his loyalists and allies as part of efforts to reshape the political equation ahead of the forthcoming governorship contest in Osun State.
