‘What The Lord Has Begun…Asiwaju Till 2031’ – Remi Tinubu Declares Amid 2027 Realignments
expressed huge confidence in her husband’s leadership and re-election bid.
Remi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed huge confidence in her husband’s leadership and re-election bid.
In a post on Tuesday, the former senator representing Lagos Central declared that “what the Lord has begun, no man can bring to naught,” adding that Nigerians in 2027 would have to discern “between the father who laid the foundation of our democracy politics and the son who merely learns at his feet.” She ended the message with the hashtag #AsiwajuTill2031.
Her statement comes at a time of shifting political alliances ahead of the 2027 general election.

President Tinubu, famously known as Asiwaju, is seeking another term and has been shoring up endorsements from across the country.
However, he faces opposition from former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, – the challengers he defeated in 2023 – who have now aligned with the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform for like-minds.
Their ranks have been increased by Rauf Aregbesola, a former Tinubu loyalist who has emerged as their arrowhead in the southwest, and Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, who turned against the president after being ruled out of a ministerial role.
El-Rufai has since become one of the fiercest critics of the administration and Tinubu’s re-election ambition.

Though Remi Tinubu did not directly indicate who her remarks were directed at, her message has been widely interpreted as a strong show of faith in her husband’s ability to overcome the mounting opposition and secure another mandate in 2027.
