Bayelsa State Government has finally broken its silence over the tragic death of Mr. Peresuodei Ondutimi Abbah of Amassoma community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, promising that those responsible will face the full weight of the law.

In a press statement issued by the Office of the Honorable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Bayelsa State, the government extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and community of the deceased.

The statement emphasized that the State is committed to ensuring that justice is served through due legal process.

According to the statement, the Bayelsa State Ministry of Justice, under the leadership of Honorable Biriyai Dambo, SAN, is working closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to carry out a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Key witness statements have already been secured, and investigations are said to be at an advanced stage.

The statement further revealed that, upon conclusion of the investigation, the Office of the Attorney-General will take over the matter to ensure prosecution of anyone found culpable.
