There is a silent uprising in the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress sources claim.

Insiders disclose that this development is as a result of the growing talks of the gubernatorial ambition of Minister for Sports Sunday Dare.

Minister Dare is said to be eyeing the chance to become the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the state for the 2023 gubernatorial election.

Societynow.ng gathered that the talks about the Minister’s gubernatorial ambition have reached such a height that loyalists of other contenders are forced to publicly refute perception in some quarters that Dare has unofficially been adopted as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Oyo state for the next general election.

Societynow.ng gathered that loyalists of contenders – for the gubernatorial ticket – like Joseph Tegbe, Bayo Adelabu and Adebayo Shittu are not just kicking against Minister Dare’s ambition but have started working against it.

Adelabu, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the last general election believes he deserves to be asked whether he is still interested in the ticket or not before any other name is thrown up.

Societynow.ng learned Adelabu wants to give the chance to become the governor of Oyo state another shot – and old foes Tegbe and Shittu are set to give him another round of fight.

‘’But as things stand, Adelabu, Tegbe, and Shittu are jointly fighting against Minister Dare’s ambition while trying to keep one another at arm’s length. It is a political mess that is festering as things stand’’ a source stated.

Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi is said to have taken the stand of a political leader to be courted by all the players at odds with one another at press time.
