Senator Gbenga Ashafa Intensely Lobbies Asiwaju Bola Tinubu For 2015 Lagos Guber Spot, As State Tax Boss, Tunde Fowler Resigns To Prosecute Same Ambition

Senator Gbenga Ashafa has increased lobbying to become the successor of outgoing Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

This move is on, even as Chairman of the Lagos state Internal Revenue service, Tunde Fowler resigns his plum appointment to prosecute same ambition.

Incidental both Fowler and Ashafa depends on the say so of political heavy weight and national leader of All Progressives Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to achieve their aim.

The state has been in the vice grip of the Mr Tinubu since he served as two term governor of the state.

And confidants of the two key members of kitchen cabinet of the office holder installer claim their principals have secured the go ahead from the political mentor.

According to information filtering out of his camp, Fowler specifically resigned on the bidding of Asiwaju Tinubu to go and begin campaign. He is said to be a veritable candidate- with ability to get the job done and remain obedient- to silence growing concerns over religious coloration.

Ashafa on his part is said have taken the bulls by the horn. He reportedly secured audience with Asiwaju Tinubu at his Bourdillon Lagos home and requested a replicate of the support that ousted high profile law maker Mamora from the later.

Asiwaju Tinubu unilaterally sidelined celebrated Senator Mamora for former Lands Bureau helms man, Gbenga Ashafa to take over his post.

After a single term in office, Ashafa wants a replication of the same arrangement to transform into the Governor of Lagos state.

How this plays out in the face of increased hurdles such as the ambition of Mr Fowler, and stronger mitigating interests- like that of incumbent Mr Babatunde Fashola said to prefer another aspirant outside of these two, remains to be seen.
