President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerian and international investors to explore 65 bankable projects seeking $78.5 billion in investment, while welcoming a separate World Bank Group initiative to mobilise up to $5.79 billion in private financing for Nigeria.

Tinubu said the initiatives align with his administration’s efforts to strengthen the foundation for investment, expand business opportunities and improve livelihoods through economic reforms.

In a statement, the president said, “We undertook our economic reforms to build a stronger foundation for investment and give more Nigerians the opportunity to earn a better living.”

He welcomed the World Bank Group’s efforts to mobilise private capital for Nigeria, noting that the partnership supports initiatives to help businesses expand and attract investment into agriculture and digital infrastructure.

The president also highlighted Nigeria’s investment pipeline, which comprises 65 projects seeking a combined $78.5 billion in funding.

According to Tinubu, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, presented the investment opportunities alongside Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Olayemi Cardoso at the Nigeria Investors Forum.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the 2026 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok.
Tinubu urged investors to examine the proposed projects and engage directly with their sponsors through Projects Nigeria, the government’s platform for presenting investment opportunities.

“I invite Nigerian and international investors to examine these projects and engage directly with their sponsors through Projects Nigeria,” he said.

He assured prospective investors that his administration would work to address obstacles that could hinder viable investments and delay project execution.

“Our administration will work with you to resolve obstacles and move viable investments into execution, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for our people,” the president added.

The government’s investment drive comes amid efforts to attract private capital into productive sectors of the economy and encourage businesses to expand their operations.

However, converting the proposed investment pipeline into actual capital commitments will depend on investors’ assessments of individual projects, their commercial viability and the conditions for implementation.

Investors can access details of the 65 projects through the federal government’s Projects Nigeria portal at finance.gov.ng/projectsnigeria.
