Bayelsa Govt Approves Establishment Of Six New Schools As Enrollment Increases

and the overpopulation of existing schools

Following the increased in students enrollment and the overpopulation of existing schools in some communities, the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has graciously approved the establishment of six (6) new schools across the state.

The schools are as follows;

1). Government Model Secondary School, Olobiri, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

2). Government Secondary School, Ewoama, Brass Local Government Area.

3). Government Secondary School, Kpansia, Yenagoa Local Government Area.

4). Government Secondary School, Amarata, Yenagoa Local Government Area.

5). Government Secondary School and Community Primary School, Azeleke, (Along Imiringi Road) Yenagoa Local Government Area.

6). Community Primary School Yenizue-Epie, Yenagoa Local Government Area.

Furthermore, His Excellency approved the takeover of Simon Monday-Bubou Memorial Secondary School, Luduon, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area which is currently funded and administered through community efforts.

According to the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, the steps are geared towards bringing educational opportunities closer to the people is in line with the ASSURED Prosperity agenda of the current administration.
