Wike Doles Out 484m To Acquire Wonder On Wheels For Federal Lawmakers As Rivers Pensioners Remain Unpaid For 3yrs

The administration of Governor Nyesom Wike has bought brand new Sport Utility Vehicles – Toyota Land cruisers – for the 16 federal lawmakers from the state.

The purchase according to the calculation made by premiumtimes is about 484.720million- this is outside of the cost of clearing and customs duties.

The news spotter arrived at the 484.720million cost for the wonder on wheels purely going by the unit price of $83,665 for a Toyota Land Cruiser in the U.S.

The automobile gifts are said to be irrespective of the political affiliations of the National Assembly members.

Ironically, the lavish handouts come at a time Rivers state is owing retired civil servants their pensions and gratuities for three years.

Edward Adibo, the chairman of Nigerian Union of Pensioners disclosed to premiumtimes that over 1,850 civil servants in Rivers state are yet t be accommodated in the pension payroll.
