Why Police Quickly Reconcile Lagos Island Transport Union Bosses Kunle Poly & Seego
An urgent move has been effected to stem growing violence in Lagos Island.
Sources confirmed the Nigerian police – represented by the area commander in-charge of the area – has perfected a reconciliation between estranged transport union leaders Kunle “Poly” Lawal and Mustapha “Seego” Adekunle.
The two street personalities on different sides of raging battle for the control of Lagos state Union of Road Transport Workers jointly staged a “peace” rally last weekend to signify end of “hostilities” in the area.
Supporters and sympathizers of the two characters simply address as Seego and Kunle Poly are alleged to be at the roots of violence rocking the area in the bid to protect their principals.
The development was said to have assumed worrying dimension.
The police area commander was said to have towed the path of reconciling the two figures to stem the tide of violence based on clinical intelligence gathering.
How effective the strategy would prove to be, however, remain to be seen according to sources on ground.
