“They Only Talk On Pages Of Newspapers, They Have Refused To Meet With Us” Owners Of Properties Demolished For Pen Cinema Bridge Cry Out Against Lagos Govt

Owners of properties demolished by the Lagos state government to pave way for the construction of bridge meant to ease traffic in Pen Cinema axis have made a weighty allegation.

They claim all talks of compensation by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration are mere “public posturing in the media”.

“They have refused to meet with us, we have written them severally and gone to Alausa and they have refused to meet with us, so how can we believe what they are saying on the pages on newspapers” representative Esther Olaoluwa echoed the thoughts of other property owners on “Across Nigeria”, a Channels Television news recap programme aired at 11.pm Wednesday, January 10, 2017.

Esther who was on set with documents to prove her case as a genuine property owner was televised at about 11.15p.m.

She insisted despite claims in the media by the Lagos state government that the properties owners affected in the name of “right of way”, the Ambode administration has blatantly refused to engage them.

Esther stated the demand of those affected as “relocation” or “compensation commensurate with the value of the demolished property”.
