The True Story As “Adopted Candidate” Bimbo Ashiru Is Decorated With Talks Of Pulling Out Of Ogun Guber Race After Denial Of Quitting Amosun Cabinet

After denials of quitting the cabinet of Governor of Ogun Ibikunle Amosun, the adopted gubernatorial candidate of Ogun East chapter of the All Progressives Congress -Bimbo Ashiru is doused in fresh talks.

He is alleged to have pulled out of the race to become the next governor of Ogun State.

And the talks gaining strenght by the minute is based on his decision to stay on in the cabinet of Governor Amosun as commissioner for commerce.

According to those behind the latest talks, Ashiru truly resigned but was forced to rescind the decision same day.

“He is one of the most trusted ally of Amosun and major revenue and influence contributor to the government, his abrupt resignation if allowed to pan out would have created a crisis of confidence for the governor and his administration” a source claimed.

He was allegedly forced to rescind the decision based on very strong pressure from the Governor in a “break or mar” understanding.

His decision to stay on as a key asset to the government of Amosun is now being interpreted as “pulling” out of the race and blowing open the chance for all other aspirants from the zone that adopted him to contest again.

“There is no more a consensus candidate” is the growing talks.

However, those close to the Ogun East adopted candidate make contrary claims.

“Otunba Ashiru is still very much in the race, he remains the adopted candidate of Ogun East” a deep source in his camp declared.

Ashiru while denying reports of his resignation yesterday, insists he remains  the commissioner of Commerce in Ogun state in the bid to continue providing his contribution to the development of Ogun state as a part of the Amosun team.

Sources inside his camp claim “that is the true position of things, Otunba is staying on as a commissioner to contribute to the success of the Amosun government but he remains the gubernatorial candidate of Ogun East as well”.

Checks by societynow revealed there are ongoing efforts in some quarters – within and beyond the Ogun state All Progressives Congress -to stop the move by Ogun East to present a candidate in the race to succeed governor Amosun.

And Ashiru as the adopted candidate has become the target of this and that talks and reports.

Disclosed a source “what they don’t know is that the agenda is beyond Ashiru, he is just the face”.

As different drama comes to be, it is obvious from all indications the race to become the next governor of Ogun state is no more a child’s play.
