Talks Of A Major Political Move Swirl Around Gbenga Daniel

Fresh talks are swirling around the Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel.
The owner of one of the four major political structures in Ogun State is said to be plotting a major political move.
However, sources say the details are being kept close to the chest by the former Governor of Ogun State—who served from May 29, 2003, to May 29, 2011—and his men.
The claims are emerging amid an intensifying face-off between the owner of the highly successful electro-mechanical engineering company, Kresta Laurel, and Governor Dapo Abiodun.
There are speculations that Abiodun, who is in the final stretch of his two-term tenure—having been elected in 2019 and securing a second term in 2023—is eyeing the Ogun East Senatorial seat currently occupied by Daniel. Daniel’s electoral stature is further strengthened by his control of a significant portion of the political following of the late Kashamu Buruji.
Buruji, a former Ogun East Senator and gubernatorial candidate who died on August 8, 2020, was the face of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), commanding a fanatical following at the time of his death.
The prevailing talks suggest that Daniel’s planned political move is centered around safeguarding his senatorial seat and securing his political future ahead of the 2027 election
