Sacked Senator, Uche Ukwunife has threatened legal action against one of the contestants seeking to take over the position she is keen to reclaim.

According to a report available

Senator Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organisation, yesterday, threatened legal action against the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh in the scheduled fresh senatorial election for Anambra Central zone should he fail to refrain from alleged malicious, libelous and sensational statements against its candidate, Senator Uche Ekwunife of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

A statement by the chairman of the campaign organization, Sir Edwin Uboo in Awka, said that the organisation was particularly angered by Umeh’s alleged continued deliberate malicious misinterpretation, misrepresentation and sentimentalization of the Court of Appeal judgment in Enugu that Ekwunife was disqualified from contesting the scheduled fresh election expected to hold in March, 2016.

“Take final notice that if any further attempt is made by yourself (Umeh) or any of your aides to misrepresent, misinterpret or misquote the judgment of the Court of Appeal, we shall instruct our solicitors to seek legal redress against you. Be warned,” it stated.

The organisation noted that Umeh’s action was a propaganda calculated at deceiving the general public that Ekwunife had been disqualified by the Appeal Court from contesting the senatorial election for Anambra Central district.
